Problemas Con Vista Beta 2

Gary Krakow describe en su columna de la MSNBC (Microsoft - NBC) su experiencia con el beta 2 de Windows Vista.

Si bien indica que los programas que funcionan bajo W/XP parecen funcionar bien, el mayor problema fué el proceso de instalación del (nuevo) Sistema Operativo: "After a weekend of frustration — more than 30 hours of my time — and some help from Microsoft — I have Vista almost Beta 2 running (somewhat) on a laptop."

Describe en su columna que su primer intento de instalación fué con el modo Upgrade: "I tried installing it as an update to the laptop’s Windows XP — but after four hours of churning away the laptop shut down and wouldn’t reboot."

Así que prosiguió formateando todo y utilizando la opción "Clean Install". Tras unas horas de trabajo, logra instalar el sistema, pero continua: "Unfortunately, not everything [drivers] I downloaded is Vista-ready so rebooting had to occur after every 10 minutes of computer use..."

También nos cuenta su experiencia intentando instalar en 2 equipos más, pero con resultados mucho peores: "One, it turns out, needs a new Real Time Clock battery ... and another had a massive hard drive failure at the beginning of the installation process."

Finalmente Concluye: "Installing Vista Beta 2, for me was one of the worst operating system experiences that I’ve ever encountered."
